How To Be The Best Version Of Yourself: A Quick Guide For Self-Improvement

Do you ever feel like you’re not living up to your full potential? That every day, you’re just going through the motions and wishing that things could be better? This blog post is for those people. It’s time to stop feeling stuck in the mud and start working on becoming a better version of yourself!

Start by waking up an hour earlier

This has been a game-changer for me. It allows me to start my day feeling in control as opposed to everyone else’s agenda. When you wake up early, you give yourself more time to focus on yourself, your goals, and what you want to create that day. 

I host a 6am call every single morning with my coaching group. It is a fantastic way to start the day off right with purpose. Of course, the biggest challenge for most people in this is the process of actually getting out of bed in the morning, but there are some simple tricks you can use to help.

Set the alarm on your phone and leave it across the room

Moving naturally wakes us up. It gets our blood pumping so that our brain and body can get going. Unfortunately, when you sleep with your alarm next to you, it becomes too easy to hit the snooze button. You can set up your environment to help you by something as simple as having your alarm clock across the room, where it requires you to get up.  

Leave a glass of water next to your alarm.

I learned this trick from Hal Elrod, author of The Miracle Morning, and it really does work. Our bodies need a lot of water to function normally, and naturally, while we’re asleep, we aren’t taking any in. But we are losing a lot through breathing and sweating while we sleep. So drinking a full glass of water first thing in the morning wakes you up and hydrates you properly.

Plan An Activity For Yourself When You Wake Up

Create your own morning routine. For example, mine consists of writing my goal, personal development study, visualization, oh and coffee! This is very powerful because your subconscious mind (which controls your results) is open at that time.  

Take time to move your body 

This is one of the most important parts of trying to become a better version of yourself. Exercise doesn’t have to be anything intense! Even simple things like walking or doing some stretches will make you feel better about yourself and help you get more sleep at night. And this has other benefits, too—it keeps your body healthy, and your brain stimulated.

One of the things that helped me was changing my relationship with my body. One of my affirmations is, “I love my body,” And from that place, eating mindfully and exercising is much more natural.  

Be mindful about what you’re doing and be present in the moment.

Be mindful about what you’re doing and be present in the moment. The more you are present, the easier it will be to focus on what’s essential in your life—whether you’re working, exercising, or spending time with your friends and family. 

It will also help to keep things in perspective for you—you’ll be able/want to do more because of the positivity that mindfulness brings. Lastly, remember that everything is impermanent. You can either choose to enjoy what’s happening while it lasts or let it pass you by.

Spend time with people who are positive influences on you 

One of the easiest ways to be a better version of yourself is to spend time with positive influences on you. It will be easy for you to truly feel positive and happy when you surround yourself with those who care about you and want the best for you. 

If you have children, you would probably be concerned if they started to hang out with a “bad” crowd, and that would be because you don’t want that group to influence your child.  

What about your crowd? What is rubbing off on you?  

Give back to others as much as possible

The way to be a better version of yourself starts with giving back to others as much as possible. When you start helping out those around you, making small gestures, and doing nice things for them, it will become a habit, and you’ll find that the positivity will flow into your life. Once this happens, it will be easier to stay motivated and enjoy what is happening in your life each day.
